Grimsby forklift business rounds off £35k investment with prestigious training accreditation

Grimsby-based BJB Lift Trucks have announced the addition of the prestigious International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) accreditation to their portfolio of training awarding bodies.

The achievement concludes a £35,000 period of investment in work at height training for the firm, including the purchase of a Genie scissor lift and Genie boom.

Director Peter Harvey said: “We have delivered accredited MEWP (mobile elevated working platforms) training for a number of years but now we are a fully approved IPAF training centre we can really push it forward.

“As a company that already sells and hires scissor lifts and booms, its great to be able to offer our customers accredited training on this equipment too.”

The Estate Road 1 centre in Grimsby is now working with a team of three IPAF instructors, a couple of whom are also qualified PASMA instructors.

Now that the IPAF training is moving forward, accreditation with the portable scaffolding awarding body could be next on the BJB radar.

Peter added: “We are getting more and more enquiries for the PASMA accredited training and it seems to go hand in hand with IPAF, particularly for contract workers. It is something we are certainly evaluating with a view to adding it to our training provision in the future.”
