Fantasy Island in Skegness will undergo a £25 million refurbishment including the introduction of new rides, golf course and bowling alley.

Following the leisure company’s purchase in March by Mellors Group, Fantasy Island Holdings Ltd will be introducing new and exciting experiences for customers in 2017.

Shortly after the purchase was completed, the theme park welcomed back extreme ride G- Force – a 50 metre tall thrill ride.

Mellors will now be investing in excess of £3 million in a number of new rides and attractions by next season.

This significant investment includes attractions such as a multi-platform themed indoor mini golf course, an American-style bowling alley and six new junior and family rides to enhance the overall Fantasy Island offering.

The Mellors Group has also announced there will be facelift to Europe’s largest 7-day market.

Upgrades in product variation, site presentation and branding will begin this winter season with the aim of completion for March 2018.

Director of Finance, Claire Draper said: “The significant capital investment that we are committed to this winter is the most the site will have seen in nearly two decades.

“It is a huge undertaking with numerous projects to be completed in a short time-frame, but we are anxious to get started and excited to re-open and unveil the new Fantasy Island in March next year.”

James Mellors of Mellors Group added: “Announcing a significant investment for 2017 is our vote of confidence in our great management and staff team, in Fantasy Island as a visitor attraction with amazing potential in Skegness and Lincolnshire.”
