Exceptional apprentices recognised at the Lincoln College Awards 2016

Business representatives joined students and lecturers at the Lincoln College Awards on December 8 to recognise the hard work and determination of this years apprentices.

Winners and guests enjoyed a festive meal and award presentations with live music from Lincoln College Performing Arts students throughout the evening.

The Apprentice Student of the Year Streets Chartered Accountants Award was presented to Sophie Gottschall by James Pinchbeck, Marketing Partner at Streets Chartered Accountants. Sophie also won the Exceptional Sport & Service Sector Apprentice award.

All of the awards were sponsored by local firms, with Stonebow Media acting as the overall sponsor and media partner for the event.

Other winners also included Jon Watson for the Exceptional Construction Apprentice award, Emily Edwards, winner of the Exceptional Computing, Hair, Beauty & Holistic Therapy Apprentice award and Joshua Grant who won the Exceptional Engineering and Technology Apprentice.

Former Lincoln College student and presenter of the Gadget Show UK and US Jason Bradbury was also a guest speaker at the event.

He said: “It is such a privilege to be invited as the guest of honour, I have such fond memories of my time studying my A-Levels at Lincoln College.

“The qualifications and experience I gained, and the relationships I built, had a lasting and meaningful positive impact on both my professional and personal life.”

Lincoln College Group CEO, Gary Headland spoke at the event: “The annual Lincoln College Group Awards evening is one of my favourite events of the year as we get to engage with a wide range of employers and to recognise the achievements of our students and our staff.

“The bringing together of employers, students and staff in events such as this is critical to having a shared understanding of the needs of our regional businesses so that we can meet them.”
