Sports Bike Shop set for further expansion just months after moving

Boston-based Sports Bike Shop is set to nearly double its new site, just eight months after moving in, pending approval from Boston Borough Council.

The biggest online motorcycle accessory store in the UK outgrew their former premises on Haven Business Park in Boston and moved to its purpose built new site on Hereward Close in May last year.

Due to the company’s continued growth, it has already outgrown its new area and is now looking to expand with an addition 2,039 sqm, to keep up with demand.

If given the green light, construction would be carried out by Spalding-based RPS Construction.

Since the initial move, Sports Bike Shop Ltd has already taken on 15 new staff to cope with the additional growth since moving into the new site, boosting its total staff to 55.

James Mitchell, Founder and Managing Director, said: “It’s a lot more cost-effective to make sure we have enough room for any future growth.

“December sales were up 60% year on year and we are still going through a period of very fast growth.

“We have a lot of projects on the cards for new retail stores. We think that it’s a big opportunity for us having external retail outlets. The mix of a strong website with some key locations would work really well for us in key locations.

“There’s just lots going at the moment and we’re trying to keep up with our own growth.

“The last thing we want is to be held back by space.”
