Lincoln steakhouse closed just a year after opening

This story is over

Customers have been left confused after hearing Dexters Alehouse and Kitchen in Lincoln apparently closed down two days ago —just over a year after opening.

The restaurant’s shutters are closed even though it should be open for lunch time.

Their website is down, their Facebook page has been removed and their telephone line is not operational.

However, no signage announcing the closure is on display at the premises on Newland.

Fine Leisure Ltd also has venues in Louth, Cleethorpes and Brigg, which all appear to be open, however it has been reported their Hull restaurant has also closed.

After speaking with The Little Lincoln Cafe next door, staff there said they saw people clearing the cellar at Dexters on Thursday, February 9.

One resident posted on Facebook an angry message about not being informed about the closure, despite having a booking with the venue for Valentine’s Day.

Amy Tollerton said: “Just wanted to let everyone know that Dexters Steakhouse in Lincoln has shut down and hasn’t bothered telling anyone who has booked a meal there!

“Considering it’s nearly Valentine’s Day I would think their diary would have been booked up and I don’t want anyone turning up without having anywhere else to go!

I struggle to understand why they haven’t called all their customers.

Other people who replied to Amy’s message said they have been the winners of a competition with the venue and that they have been called and told the venue is closed.

By the time of writing Lincolnshire Business has made a number of attempts to contact the company, with no response. We will update the story should we hear back.
