Plans for new lodge-style hotel near Lincoln

A new lodge-style hotel could be built near Lincoln, creating up to 12 new jobs for the area, if planning is granted by West Lindsey District Council.

Submitted by Cerda Planning on behalf of Marston Inns and Taverns, owners of The Woodcocks in Burton Waters, plans consist of a new two storey, 38 room hotel built right next door to the pub.

The application site lies to the south of The Woodcocks and aims to provide ‘value for money accommodation options’.

If given the green light, it is expected to increase sales at the pub by almost £500,000 a year, resulting in an additional two full time chef positions and three new front of house pub staff roles.

The application states: “The proposal represents a sensitive design response to the existing site, which protects against the loss of important trees and maintains the visual relationship that the existing public house/restaurant has with its surroundings.”
