Businesses across Lincolnshire will hear how they can get involved in Visit Lincoln’s marketing plans for 2017 at a special industry-focused event on February 28.

Hosted at the Doubletree by Hilton hotel, business owners will hear about key opportunities and discover more about Cultural Destinations funding, as well as take away the 2017 marketing toolkit, which can be used in their own campaigns.

Plans to boost tourism for 2017 include the Lincoln Knights’ Trail, following the success of the Barons in 2015, as well as the Battle of Lincoln and the Charter of the Forest anniversary commemorations.

The event will include a presentation from Clare William, Marketing and Business Development Manager at Visit Lincoln and Matt Corrigan, Chief Executive of Lincoln BIG who will provide information on the Cultural Destination fund.

Lydia Rusling, new Head of Visit Lincoln, will also be talking about her vision for in 2017 and beyond.

Lydia said: “This event gives businesses the tools needed to participate in the wider marketing of Lincoln.

“There are a lot of exciting plans for 2017 and we want to share them with our partners and the wider business community.

“There’s so much going on, and if we work together we can encourage even more people to visit our beautiful city and surrounding countryside.

“Headline activities include the Knights’ Trail and Battle of Lincoln anniversary in May, plus the Charter of the Forest anniversaries in October; not to mention new funding streams from Cultural Destinations and other business support funding that is available.”

Places for this event can be booked on the Visit Lincoln website.
