Work will begin at Belvoir Castle near Grantham to create a multiple outlet retail village, following a significant investment.

Major redevelopment of the castle’s former Engine Yard workshop buildings will start in March, creating 12 outlet retail units.

It is believed work will be complete by February 2018.

The significant investment will be used to renovate historic old buildings and make them fit for retail.

There will be 12 units, some of which have been designated ‘by design’ for use as:

  • A wellness centre/spa
  • Farm shop selling the Estate’s organic produce
  • Cafe with wood oven bakery
  • Specialist garden centre
  • Bike hire/retail and maintenance serving the Vale of Belvoir cycling fraternity

A spokesperson for Belvoir Castle said: “The remaining units will provide a mix of exclusive offers that will equip the village well in the battle with online shopping.

“It is confidently anticipated that the development will bring lasting benefits to the communities in the Vale of Belvoir, in terms of increased visitor/ tourist numbers.

“It will provide a vibrant and compelling hub for both the local population and those from the towns and cities of the entire East Midland region.”
