Businesses looking to export to China are urged to take advantage of a new event hosted by the Institute of Directors.

In collaboration with China Britain Business Council (CBBC), Department for International Trade (DIT) and Lincoln College, Entering the China Market is a masterclass for companies on the verge of exporting to China and will take place on Friday, March 31 at Lincoln College.

The free half day session, starting at 8.45am will help businesses to enter the Chinese market and increase business in the context of the rapidly changing market of modern China.

The introductory workshop is designed for companies which are new to China and will explore how to research and identify opportunities, different models of market entry, working with partners effectively, and the various legal and tax considerations.

The event has been organised following the success of the second Big Chinese Takeaway, organised by Streets Chartered Accountants, which looked at opportunities for businesses in terms of trade and investment to and from China.

Lincoln College Group CEO, Greater Lincolnshire IOD Chairman and Midlands Engine Export Champion Gary Headland said: “Our Entering the China Market Masterclass is a great opportunity for firms on the verge of exporting to China.

“Expert speakers will brief attendees on how to research their markets, identify opportunities and examine the best ways for them to introduce their businesses to China.

“There’ll be invaluable information on legal and tax considerations, leaving firms with a comprehensive toolkit for exporting success.”
