Lincoln-based construction company Simons Group has been selected to carry out work on Siemens’ £35 million expansion of its Teal Park site.

Engineering giant Siemens revealed it would be investing in a new Global Services Operations Centre and relocating services currently based on Freeman Road to the new buildings in North Hykeham in April.

Simons Group has been awarded a £9 million contract to build the new centre off Doddington Road.

Tom Robinson, Chief Executive, said the contract was a ‘major boost’ to the firm’s local portfolio: “Simons has a dedicated logistics team who are tailor made for the job.

“We are delighted to have been awarded the contract and confident our team will deliver fantastic results. We are looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Siemens.”

The Group will be working alongside Lincoln-based John Roberts Architects and civil and structural engineers, aba consulting.

Work on the new 7,000 square metre facility is set to begin on site next month, behind the current Industrial Turbomachinery facility.

It’s expected building work will be completed by May 2018.

In addition to the new development, Siemens has also purchased the original 11 acre Siemens’ Feilden House site on the Teal Park industrial estate.
