Lincoln BIG are calling for market traders to sell food and drink items at the Medieval Market later this month.

The Heritage Skills Festival will run from Friday, June 23 to Saturday June 24 in Minster Yard.

Running from 10am to 4pm each day, the festival brings together Lincoln Cathedral and The City of London Livery Companies and organisers are urging traders to embrace the spirit of the occasion with Medieval-styled fancy dress.

Stalls are available on a first-come, first-served basis for businesses who can take part on the Saturday of the festival with hopes that the Medieval market will be one of the many attractions.

Michael Armstrong, Lincoln BIG’s Events and Promotions manager, said: “This will be a unique opportunity for people to see The City of London Livery Companies sharing their skills for the first event of its kind outside of London.

“Skills and crafts on show will include plastering, masonry, embroidery, calligraphy and many more and there will a chance for visitors to have a go themselves.

“The weekend will also the Lord Mayor of London’s Procession from Lincoln Castle and an Organ Recital by the Lord Mayor (both on the Friday), Mystery Plays, Live music, the Medieval Market (Saturday) and a fantastic Auction on the East Green of Lincoln Cathedral (also on the Saturday).

“This event offers market traders a fabulous opportunity to promote and sell local food and produce on the Saturday, on yet another occasion when Lincoln is sure to be welcoming lots of visitors.”
