Fast-expanding plumbing business to open in Bourne

This story is over

The James Hargreaves Plumbing Depot chain will expand later this month with a new branch opening in Bourne, Lincolnshire, under manager Iain Thom.

The business, situated on Cherry Holt Lane, Bourne, Lincolnshire, holds its roots in the north and is working hard to expand its market further south, with the new branch including a full bathroom showroom as well as a well-stocked trade counter.

The branch is set to open later this month after an investment of £250,000.

New manager Iain Thom, 48, has over 20 years of experience in the plumbing and heating industry. However, his career also includes a spell in the military, as a Corporal in two overseas conflicts – Bosnia and the Gulf. He said that “the experience served me well, but my main working life has centred around plumbing and heating.”

He said: “I am determined to put my local know-how to good use, having worked in places like Grantham, Peterborough, and Spalding.

“I have held most positions and also started up two branches from scratch, so there isn’t much to faze me about this.”

James Hargreaves Plumbing Depot sales director Bill Davies said: “Bourne is another key move in our plan to open branches further south.

“Location is always a key factor, but we are happy to look wherever we can find the right calibre of manager and Iain is the perfect fit for us.”

Mr. Davies concluded by saying that he is “confident we have found the man to help make this new branch in Bourne a big success.”
