A new scholarship has been announced which will see a university student receive financial, educational and work placement support from one of Lincoln’s leading independent businesses.
Ruddocks Design and Print has teamed up with the University of Lincoln to offer one student enrolling onto the BA Advertising and Marketing programme in September 2017 the chance of earning the scholarship.
The student chosen will receive £9,000 over the three years of undergraduate study and weekly mentoring, regular work experience and a potential permanent role with Ruddocks after graduation.
Ruddocks managing director Paul Banton said: “At Ruddocks we are really looking forward to welcoming our first student on this new scholarship scheme.
“It represents an extremely positive opportunity for our business, for the university, and especially for the successful student.
“As well as the valuable financial support they’ll receive to help them with their studies, they will also truly experience the world of work and will receive one-to-one mentoring on a weekly basis from colleagues working within the industry.
“The scholarship will absolutely fit around University study, and it will encourage the student to really engage with our business and come out of their three-year degree ready to work.
“It is our ambition that the student’s six-month placement at the end of their scholarship will ultimately turn into a permanent position with Ruddocks.
“As well as being delighted to support talent from our local university, we see this scholarship as an important pipeline for gifted graduate employees with fresh ideas, who understand our business and know how we work.”
Students starting the course will be invited to apply for the scholarship via a letter of application, followed by an interview with Ruddocks in November 2017.
