Retail expert Corin Birchall has been sharing his wealth of expertise with independent businesses in Lincoln.
Lincoln BIG and the City of Lincoln Council invited Mr Birchall to host two workshops at The Terrace in Danesgate, particularly focussing on support to local businesses affected by works on the new Lincoln Transport Hub.
The first session on Monday, July 3 focused on the challenge faced by business trading through times.
The second taking place today, Tuesday, July 4, will explore ways in which businesses can derive good benefits by getting involved in city centre events.
Lincoln BIG Business Support Officer Richard Baxter said: “The workshops have been timed to take place in the early evening to give owners and managers of independent businesses every opportunity to attend.
“Traders, at the helm of a wide variety of businesses, have also been given the opportunity to have private, one-to-one consultations with Corin, which we hope will be of real benefit to them.”
The City of Lincoln Council’s Principal Small Business Support Officer Ben Lockley said: “It’s great to be able to offer funded support for retail businesses in general and independent retailers in particular, for example to help address the challenges faced by the retailers in Sincil Street and the Central Market area, while the transport hub is under construction. We feel it is important to provide as much support as we can.
“We have previously worked with Corin by providing a workshop for Lincoln retailers and he was very well received. We believe his knowledge and experience will be of great help for the businesses in this area.
“By providing the two workshops alongside one-to-one consultations we believe these retailers will benefit greatly.”
