Chance to nominate award-worthy community businesses in North Kesteven

Residents in North Kesteven are being asked to nominate firms for the annual Community Business of the Year award.

Each year, North Kesteven District Council’s Community Champion Awards recognises those who have gone above and beyond for their community.

Businesses can self-nominate but a stronger case is made if the recipients of a firm’s generosity support and endorse this through further nominations.

Last year’s big business winner Branston Ltd was heavily praised by Branston Parish Council for its significant investment in children’s educational resources and local community projects.

Jackie Baker, Branston Ltd’s Communications Manager said: “Branston Ltd was delighted to be nominated by the Parish Council as a Community Champion in 2016.

“If you know – or run – a company like this, then nominating them for a Community Champion Award would be a great way to ensure that community feedback.”

Last year, Hill Holt Wood at Norton Disney was also celebrated for its level of involvement within the broader community.

Gavin Warhurst, Senior Ranger at Hill Holt Wood said: “When local people see the award they know that they are dealing with a business representing their interests at a local level.”

Nominations can be made online. The deadline is 12pm on Friday, September 8.
