Local artists and designers will now be able to showcase their work thanks to a new Lincoln store opening next month.

The Beehive, St Martins Square at the top of the high street, will boast two units that will be used for a variety of purposes with aims to open on September 2.

One unit will be the main shop that will sell gifts and the other will be a pop up shop that small businesses can rent out for a limited period to display their products.

Arts and crafts workshops also will be running in the store which allows companies to rent shelf space and sell their products.

Owner of The Beehive, Joanna Townell told Lincolnshire Business:“I know how difficult it is for a small business to set up shop so I wanted to offer others the chance of experiencing it without all the problems.”

“I wanted to offer this sort of thing as nobody else in Lincoln really offers this,” Joanna added.

Joanna previously made and sold jewellery online, while also running workshops at Ruddocks and claims “there will always be something new here at The Beehive.”

“I think it’s a lot of crafters dream to have your own bricks and mortar shop, it was certainly one of mine.

“It’s taken a lot of hard work and sacrifice to finally get to this point and I want to share it with other crafters, artists and small businesses so they to can experience it.”
