Find out why this Lincoln café is bubbling nitrogen into its coffee

A new nitrogen-infused, chilled coffee is now being served in Lincoln.

The café at Giant bike shop at Doddington Hall is the first in the East Midlands to offer the cold brew.

Chilled coffee is nothing new, but Nitro Coffee is said to achieve a creamier texture and a bold flavour using an extra Nitrogen kick.

It comes from a nitro tap in a similar fashion to some beers and ales, but don’t confuse the bubbling brew with a Guinness.

It’s pure coffee and it’s caffeine regulated, so every glass is the same.

Nitrogen gas does not dissolve easily in liquids, so it gives the brew a thicker, more velvety texture.

The Giant café is targeted at cyclists looking for a quick and tasty energy boost.

Manager of Giant Mark Hollingworth said: “It’s nitrogen infused so it’s really smooth, frothy and creamy. It looks good and it tastes fantastic”.
