Developers complete traditional village housing scheme in Scothern

Developers are celebrating the completion of 30 traditional village homes in Scothern near Lincoln.

Chestnut Homes began building work on the new homes in Scothern in March 2016, and the properties sold out very quickly.

West Lindsey District Council gave the developers a seal of approval to officially acknowledge the completion of the scheme named The Grange.

David Newton, managing director at Chestnut Homes, said: “It has been a real privilege to work in Scothern and we are delighted with the completed project.

“We are leaving this site safe in the knowledge we have provided high quality properties for residents to enjoy.”

Almost half of the 30 properties have been completed as affordable homes.

He added: “Scothern boast some beautiful traditional architecture so we took great care designing our homes to reflect the village’s character.

“As we continue to build new homes across the county, we will look back proudly on our work at The Grange and the new community we have helped create.”

Phillip Westmorland, at West Lindsey District Council, said: “Chestnut Homes has provided a welcome addition to Scothern with its attractive and much-needed new homes.”

“We were very impressed with what we saw at The Grange, and it’s clear that a lot of hard work and care has gone into designing and building the development.

“It’s always a pleasure to be working with a company that has Lincolnshire at its heart and we are looking forward to working with Chestnut Homes again in the future.”
