Lincolnshire legal experts awarded Agricultural Law Association fellowships

Spalding-basked Roythornes Solicitors has seen two members of its team awarded the accolade of fellowship from the Agricultural Law Association (ALA).

Partner Elizabeth Young and associate Alice Lees join a list of eight other ALA Fellowship holders at Roythornes Solicitors.

The fellowship and its badge of excellence is only awarded to those who’ve completed an intensive course and passed an advanced exam in agricultural law.

The ALA exists to promote the understanding and development of the law and practice in agriculture, environment, food and related issues and to provide a forum for professionals serving those sectors.

Elizabeth, who also acts as head of the private client team at Roythornes, said: “We are both delighted to have received our fellowship accreditation from the ALA, a mark of dedication to our own professional development as well as the firm’s commitment to offering clients a team of sector specialists with an in-depth knowledge of issues directly affecting them and their businesses.

“The next few years will be an interesting time for the agricultural sector with fundamental changes to agricultural policy and legislation on their way in the wake of Brexit.

“By having a specialist team fully in the know about any evolving developments, we will continue to be well-positioned to advise clients on making the best use of their assets whilst protecting their family interests.”

Alice Lees, an expert in agricultural property matters, added: “The firm’s roots lie firmly within the agricultural sector, and we continue proudly to be recognised by organisations such as Legal 500 as the leading firm for agricultural work in the East Midlands.”
