Property expert joins YMCA Lincolnshire board of trustees

Simon Smith, a partner with JH Walter for 10 years, has joined the board of trustees at YMCA Lincolnshire.

Simon brings significant experience in the property sector to the board, something he says will be essential to the strategic future of the charity.

YMCA Lincolnshire is currently reviewing its property portfolio and housing stock and launched a £1.2 million appeal last year to refurbish its St Rumbold’s Street facilities with a view to creating a day centre for those most in need in Lincoln.

Simon, who moved to Lincoln with his family in 2004, said: “I want to try and give a little bit back to the city and county that has been so good to me and my family.

“YMCA Lincolnshire is the first opportunity that has really excited me.

“The variety of work undertaken, and the depth of the social impact made by the charity is very impressive.”

YMCA Lincolnshire Chairman Ian Sackree added: “I am very pleased to secure Simon’s experience on a voluntary basis to help the board further develop its strategy for delivering exemplar services to the people of Lincolnshire, including management of its many property-related provisions.”
