Whipping up success: Cleethorpes firm on Lincolnshire tour with signature ice cream trays

A Cleethorpes ice cream van will be touring Lincolnshire with its signature whippy trays.

John Barton, 26, owner of Harrison’s Ices, will be expanding this year to serve more customers around the county with a range of flavoured frozen treats, and his £3 whippy trays have so far been a hit with customers.

After launching his business in 2014, John created the whippy trays last year as a way to stand out from other ice cream vans in the popular seaside town.

He currently has over 30 flavours to choose from, with Kinder Bueno and Ferrero Rocher being the most popular.

John told Lincolnshire Business: “Ice cream vans are losing popularity and I wanted to do something different.

“The whippy trays take a small pot of ice cream to another level and they have done really well.

“Last year we had to take three or four vans out to keep up with demand for the trays.

“This year we are looking to expand out of Cleethorpes and sell ice cream across Lincolnshire.”
