Firms and councils from across the county will be travelling to Birmingham this week to help promote Lincolnshire at the British Travel and Tourism Show (BTTS).

The trade show, taking place from Wednesday, March 21 to Thursday March 22, is the largest of its kind in the UK and attracts travel agents and coach tour operators from across the globe looking for new places to visit.

The ‘Welcome to Lincolnshire’ stand will promote the whole county to the groups market, with a special acknowledgement to Lincolnshire’s aviation connections during the RAF100 year and the special programme of events and activities that are taking place for it.

Those attending the show include Visit Lincoln, The Petwood Hotel, South Kesteven District Council, International Bomber Command Centre, City of Lincoln Council, Visit Lincs Coast and North Lincolnshire Council.

The group will also be taking a five-metre Red Arrow model, owned by Lincoln based corporate hire and build company Burnt Toast Ltd, Wellington Scenic and Jamie Marcus Productions, to help wow visitors.

Charlotte Goy, Marketing and PR Manager at Visit Lincoln said: “This is the second year we’ve attended the BTTS with a partner-led ‘Welcome to Lincolnshire’ stand.

“Last year we scooped an award – so we knew we had to raise the bar this year and get more people talking about Lincolnshire at the two-day trade show.

“Hopefully we’ll achieve this with an eye-catching five-metre Red Arrow model on our stand that people can climb into and have their photograph taken in.

“One of the main reasons we decided to attend the show is because it attracts influential travel agents and coach tour operators. Those responsible for planning holidays, trips, tours and breaks and have the power to bring thousands of extra visitors to Lincolnshire.”
