Healing Manor Hotel to team up with Penguin Books and Beatrix Potter for Peter Rabbit themed afternoon tea

Healing Manor Hotel, run by Lincolnshire Chef Steven Bennett and Charlotte Hay, will play host for the Official Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea, just as the new Peter Rabbit film lunches across the UK.

Healing Manor Hotel has teamed up with Penguin Books and Beatrix Potter to create an afternoon tea that gives a nod to all the tales dating back as far as 1901 when The Tale of Peter Rabbit was first published.

The afternoon tea will launch on Wednesday, March 21 and will be served in The Portman restaurant at Healing Manor Hotel, prior to its official relaunch.

Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea will be a mix of delicious savory and sweet treats designed by Steven Bennett and his team of chefs.

Dishes include:

  • Mr McGregor’s Vegetable Garden which is a homemade pâté, edible soil and vegetable crudités which is served with toasted hedgehog bread, as a nod to Mrs Tiggy-Winkle
  • Sandwiches are inspired by ‘The Tale of Two Bad Mice’, a spring quiche inspired by ‘The Tale of The Pie and The
  • Patty-Pan’, and a sundried tomato pastry pin wheel, inspired by Tom Kitten in ‘The Tale of Samuel Whiskers’
  • A white chocolate egg influenced by Jemima Puddle-Duck
  • A butterfly sandwich from ‘The Tale of Jeremy Fisher’
  • A ‘Rabbit tobacco’ scone
  • Blackberry macaron
  • Peter Rabbit biscuit

Healing Manor’s Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea will be served with a choice of Stokes of Lincoln tea or coffee and they’re also offering a menu of Peter Rabbit-inspired cocktails.

Bunny Tail fizz is a concoction of champagne, Belvoir Elderflower Pressé and candy floss, Bees Knees is inspired by the landscape referenced in Beatrix Potter’s novels and non-alcohol cocktails include a Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-Tail Milk Shake and Peter Rabbit Juice featuring fresh carrot, apple and orange.

Healing Manor Hotel will also be serving a Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Vegan Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea.

Steven Bennett said: “We’re really excited to be working with such a well-known brand and especially one that every generation has grown up with.

“This has been a project we’ve been working on for a while and it’s great that we’re now able to launch it in line with the new Peter Rabbit film.

“It’s such an incredible opportunity to be able to host this afternoon tea in Grimsby and Lincolnshire, it’s another step in recognizing the area as a growing food-destination.”

Beatrix Potter Afternoon is served Wednesday through to Saturday from 12pm – 3.30pm and Sunday 2pm – 4pm. Prices are £19.95 per person or £25 per person with a glass of prosecco and £12.95 under 12s.
