New support group launched for young legal professionals in Lincolnshire

A new support and social group for young chartered legal executives is being launched in Lincolnshire.

The county’s Chartered Institute for Legal Executives (CILEx) branch will bring together some of the best young law talent in the region for monthly meetings and on-going mentoring and assistance.

With a launch planned for next month, it is hoped the group will grow in numbers with representatives from a host of regional law firms.

CILEx is the professional association offering an alternative route into a law career.

Those who complete the ‘fellowship’ grade will be registered as Chartered Legal Executives – giving them the same powers as lawyers in their specialist sectors.

Vice-chair of the new Lincolnshire branch, Bethany Boothby said: “These are really quite exciting times for young legal professionals in the county, for the first time we will be offering the opportunity for those going through CILEx to help and support each other.

“I do have a law degree, but after its completion I decided to take the CILEx route to further my career.

“At times the training was challenging, and I would have certainly benefitted from having the advice and support of someone who had successfully completed the training, or was going through it too.

“This is something the new group will definitely do, and with the opportunity for social monthly and annual events too.”

The launch event is being held at Lincoln’s Collection and Usher Galleries in April and for more information email the new CILEx branch team at [email protected]
