Lincoln-based architectural firm LK2 has expanded its team with a new senior project architect as part of its growth plans.

Thomas Baines has joined the team with more than 10 years’ experience in the industry.

Specialising in commercial, healthcare and residential architecture, often with a heritage aspect, Thomas has worked on a range of projects including Peterborough Queensgate shopping centre and a high end mixed use development in Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia.

Thomas said: “I’m excited to be joining the team at LK2.

“I’m particularly interested in developing new work streams and bringing in new clients and projects, and LK2 seemed the ideal environment to do this.”

As a qualified RIBA chartered architect, Thomas also acts as RIBA mentor to placement students and teaches Revit – a 3D building information modelling software for architects, encouraging collaborative working and incorporating environmental modelling for accreditations such as BREEAM.

Andrew Kitchen, director at LK2 said: “We’re delighted to welcome Thomas to our growing team. His wealth of experience in retail and leisure makes him a perfect fit for LK2.

“LK2 continues to grow and we’re taking on some really exciting projects, making this the perfect time for him to join us.”
