A pair of Lincoln entrepreneurs have made it to number 32 in a list of startup businesses to watch in the UK.

Vehicle delivery specialist VisionDrive has made the national Startups 100 list, run by www.startups.co.uk.

Directors Ian Smith and Jack Davies entered the running following a year of huge growth which has meant the company taking on dozens of drivers and most recently, a new non-executive finance director.

VisionDrive deals exclusively with the transportation and delivery of vehicles across the UK. It has contracts with the likes of GEFCO, Pendragon, Marshalls Motor Group, Pentagon and other vehicle operators.

The company recently opened a Doncaster hub and is set to recruit and open in Hull shortly.

Ian Smith said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been named in the top 100, and to make it to number 32 is a real achievement.

“We’ve worked long and hard on this concept, so seeing it come to fruition is very rewarding.”

Bradley McKenny, Operations Director of Distract and Peter Watson, Managing Director.

Also in this year’s top 100 list is Lincoln-based Distract, which made it to number 56.

Distract is one of the fastest growing agencies in the East Midlands, creating innovative and high-performing campaigns for firms across the country.

The list is the longest-running of its kind and aims to celebrate the brightest and best businesses launched since 2015.

Startups.co.uk projects editor Megan Dunsby commented: “Each year we see a whole host of innovative new businesses being launched and this year is no exception!

“Tech developments mean that launching a business is much easier than it was a few years ago – all you need is a good idea and a solution that people are looking for.

“This year is notable for the new markets being catered for – new mothers, pensioners and divorcees are an under-served market perfect for start-up disruption.”
