Bespoke food hygiene training firm launches in the county

NEO Training, a bespoke food hygiene training operator based in Scunthorpe has launched following receipt of a £1,000 grant from the UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE) Kickstart Fund.

Offering tailored food hygiene and safety compliance training schemes to the catering & hospitality industry, the funding from UKSE has allowed NEO Training to invest in strategic advertising and promotional materials.

Established by Latif Miah, a multi-lingual food industry expert with over twenty five years’ experience, NEO Training works in partnership with senior members of staff within small catering and hospitality businesses, who are then able to coach other colleagues and promote a compliance culture within the business.

Currently a team of two operating across Yorkshire and the Humberside and the North West, Latif has plans to appoint further senior food hygiene trainers over the next 12 months to expand his business.

Latif said: “Having served the food industry for over twenty five years, I became aware of a knowledge blind spot in small businesses really understanding the compliances and regulations that are required by the industry bodies.

“The idea behind NEO Training was to ensure that there is a standardised understanding of food hygiene, food safety and H&S compliance by providing bespoke training schemes tailored to the needs of the individual business.”

Alongside providing small catering & hospitality businesses with training schemes, Latif has also commenced seminars and workshops in the Scunthorpe area in a bid to increase awareness of the importance of compliance.

UKSE launched the Kickstart fund – working in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council and the Growth Hub – to support those looking to establish a business in the area.

Alan Stanley of UKSE, said: “Enabling individuals to turn their dream job into a reality is at the heart of the Kickstart Fund’s ethos, and we are pleased to see the progress that Latif has made since establishing NEO Training.”
