Rising from the ashes: Owners investing £250k to bring back Craft

Popular Lincoln bar Craft is making a comeback following the closure of French Brasserie Côte, and CityX has spoken with the team to find out more.

With an aim of opening in mid-August, owners are investing £250,000 in bringing back the bar we all know and love.

Work is currently underway to completely transform the former Côte restaurant, which closed in April this year, with essences of the original Craft bar already making an appearance.

As well as bringing back the original beer garden and recreating a new stage area for live music, the bar will also be introducing a new range of experimental cocktails, food and party packages for all occasions.

David Nejrup, Operations Manager at Craft told CityX: “When we sadly closed Craft two years ago, since that period of time, we’ve been asked every single week: ‘When are you bringing Craft back?’

“I feel that the city lost something when we closed it and we are really really happy to have this opportunity to bring it back.

“It will be great for the city and the evening economy.

“We are bringing back the main principles of Craft, which was great service, premium products, great cocktails, and an amazing atmosphere and we are bringing back some of the favourites such as the live music element with a stage and an eclectic mix of DJs.

“With Craft mark two, we are going to go a little bit more experimental with the drinks element and incorporate that with our downstairs bar and we are also in talks about bringing in a food element.

“One of the great assets of the building is that it has got one of the best beer gardens in the city, which Côte actually cut off half of it. We are opening the beer garden back up for customers to enjoy.

“With Craft original we had a separate room with a bar, but we have changed that slightly to create a great space for VIP rental, birthday packages and booth rentals.

“We will also be offering a full range of party packages, a bottle to table service menu and lots of different elements including cocktail trees.

“Craft will be a go-to place in the city for all ages and there have been so many people that have sent messages to us saying that they are excited to see it coming back.

“I can also confirm that Joel, who played piano for Craft previously will also be coming back!

“The local support we have had from people so far has been great and we can’t wait to be back.”
