Turnbull looking to invest £1m into former Lincoln bus depot

A new kitchen and bathroom showroom with bespoke design services could be opened at a former Lincoln bus depot after a planning application was submitted to the City of Lincoln Council.

Steven Dunn Architects Limited submitted the plans to the council in June about privately owned building merchants Turnbull changing the use of the 16,000 square foot Unit B-C at the Deacon Road Industrial Estate.

If plans are approved the £1 million investment would create 20 new jobs ranging from sales and design to drivers and in the office.

A major refurbishment would be needed inside the building to create a design studio and showrooms on two floors.

Steven Dunn of Steven Dunn Architects Limited said: “We’re delighted to be involved with such an exciting project and to be of assistance to Turnbull in bringing their unique bespoke kitchen and bathroom design programme to Lincoln as part of their expansion across the East Midlands.”

The deadline for a decision on the application from the City of Lincoln Council is August 28 and Mr Dunn is hopeful of a swift resolution.

He added: “Following a number of very positive determinations by the City of Lincoln Council, including Cardinal’s Hat and Lincoln Bowl, I am looking forward to a similar prompt determination. The city council are some of the best planners we work with.”

The nearest Turnbull sites are currently in Brigg, Newark, Sleaford and Boston.
