Archaeological dig causes lane closure

The latest Jackson & Jackson development in Lincoln has reached the archeological investigation stage of the project which will mean Grantham Street will be reduced to single lane traffic from 10am on Sunday 12 August.

The closure which will allow for archaeological and construction staff to the Grantham Street scheme, which will feature five floors of student accommodation and one level of NCP car parking when complete.

Traffic flow till be controlled by temporary traffic lights to allow the safe passage of vehicles during the closure.


Dominik Jackson, director at Jackson & Jackson Developments, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this road closure may cause to the public.

“This initial stage of works is a large archaeological investigation, which our archaeological team has planned with the City Planning Authority. Once this stage is complete construction works will begin to allow us deliver more student beds for the growing student population in Lincoln.

“Please be assured we are working as quickly as possible to ensure minimal delays, so we thank the local community for their patience.”
