Flipping brilliant! New pancake house for Lincoln

This story is over

A new pancake house is set to open for those with a sweet tooth in Lincoln, however it’s not all good news for the firm.

Crivo’s Pancake House, owned by Yadgar Tayfur, is set to open at 118 High Street, in the former Royal Tandoori restaurant.

The Royal Tandoori closed in May this year following an inspection by City Council officers in November 2017, where it was given a food hygiene rating of ‘one’ with major improvement required.

However, a planning application for the new pancake house signage was applied for in April 2018 – which was refused by the City of Lincoln Council, which said the new appearance of the building ‘would neither preserve nor enhance the character and appearance of the St. Peter at Gowts Conservation Area’.

Owners are now in talks with the City of Lincoln Council to come an agreement over the appearance of the new eatery.

A spokesperson for the council said: “Crivo’s Pancake House submitted a retrospective application for the shop front and this was refused.

“Our planning team is in discussion with the applicant to come to a revised scheme.”

An opening date has not yet been announced.
