Former Lincoln village pub to become children’s day nursery

Plans for a former Nettleham pub to be transformed into a children’s day nursery have been approved by West Lindsey District Council.

Plans, submitted by Alison Wright, Director at Heath Farm Day Nursery Ltd, will now see the former Brown Cow Inn on Lincoln Road transformed into a children’s day nursery.

The Brown Cow Inn closed in March 2018 due to the owners being unable to keep the business sustainable, and has been vacant since.

The former pub will now become a nursery, with plans for the premises to be open from 7.30am to 6pm on weekdays.

It is believed the new nursery will create 19 full time and 10 part time jobs in the area.

In the application, Alison previously said: “The existing use of the premises is a pub, however due to unsustainability as a pub the premises is vacant and not operational.

“The premises was bought in 2015 but [we] have been unable to sustain the business as a pub.”

At the time of writing it is unknown when work to transform the building will take place.
