The Lincoln Tea and Coffee Company has been highly commended for its Lincolnshire Tea at The Great British Food Awards 2018.
This year had a record number of entries – all of which demonstrated the UK’s thriving food and drink scene.
In the first round, every single product entered was taste-tested, awarding scores primarily based around taste but also taking provenance into account.
A shortlist was made of the favourite products in each category, and a panel of celebrity experts and GBF testers including Michel Roux Jnr, John Torode and Raymond Blanc tasted each product and they named their favourite – along with two highly commended products.
Lincolnshire Tea was awarded the prestigious ‘Highly Commended’ title by celebrity judge, chef and food writer Valentine Warner.
This was the only tea to be amongst the award winning products.
Susie Carlisle of The Lincoln Tea and Coffee Company said: “We are so proud and excited that the top quality of our very own Lincolnshire Tea has been picked out and recognised nationally as being amongst the best Britain has to offer.”
