The left-hand lane of Carholme Road from the junction of Newland to Brayford Way, Lincoln will be closed from October 21.
The closure is to enable safe site access for construction works on the Viking House development, which is situated on Newland.
It will reopen temporarily on November 21 to allow for the additional Christmas period traffic, however it will then close again on January 7, 2019, until works to Viking House reach completion later in the year.
Viking House, accommodation for Lincoln University, is currently under phase two of construction works after receiving unanimous planning permission from the City of Lincoln Council’s planning committee earlier this year.
Viking House is being developed by Jackson & Jackson Developments and delivered by local construction company LGG Projects.
Paul Jakuc at LGG Projects said: “The road closures are necessary safety measures that need to be put in place until construction is complete, but once finished, the development will significantly improve the entrance to the city and meet the accommodation demands for the increasing number of students coming to Lincoln.
“We are working as quickly as possible to ensure minimal delays and are working closely with the highways authority to ensure alternate routes are clearly signed.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause to the public and we thank them for their patience during this time.”
