A new late-night gaming cafe is set to open on Lincoln High Street next week and CityX took a sneak peek tour of the new venue ahead of its official launch.

The brainchild of Alex Kirk-Bellamy, Red Panda Gaming Cafe aims to give customers the opportunity to play boardgames in a comfortable atmosphere.

The new cafe, which is based on the first floor of 247 High Street, next to Tesco, will officially open on November 6 at 11am.

The cafe will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11am – 10pm.

As well as the classic favourites such as Scrabble and Monopoly, the cafe will also stock what Alex describes as ‘new wave’ games, such as Ticket to Ride and Catan.

The cafe will work on a table rental basis, costing £5 per hour, which will be split into 15 minute blocks.

As well as serving Stokes coffee, there will also be a range of soft drinks, sandwiches and cakes, with plans to serve craft beers and alcohol at a later date.

Alex told CityX: “It is quite a niche place so we want to get the community excited and really get customers involved.

“So far, we have over 100 tabletop games.

“We are trying to provide a comfortable atmosphere to game and relax and look forward to opening.”
