As we see 2018 come to an end, we are proud to be celebrating what has been another hallmark year for OrderWise.
The company has gone from strength to strength this year, with 2018 seeing more new clients coming on board and both regional and national recognition for our continuous growth and software innovations. We’ve seen staff numbers continually increase as the company has expanded over the course of 2018, with more all-in-one enterprise solutions delivered than ever before to businesses with greater complexity in their requirements.
Through our commitment to ensuring OrderWise is up-to-date with all the latest technological advances and industry innovations, 2018 has seen over 600 items of development added to our ever-evolving software. These have included multiple new features to our integrated eCommerce platform, as well as some substantial new modules and useful enhancements to key areas of OrderWise such as our Store EPOS, Business Intelligence and Mobile WMS Devices.
As we unveiled even more cutting-edge software developments, this year also saw us host our first Business Connect Expo. Held at the Everyday Champions Centre in Newark, the event saw us welcome existing OrderWise users from across the UK and Ireland to network with like-minded industry professionals and gain exclusive previews of upcoming developments to our Business Management Software.
As well as this, there was also exhibition stalls, an engaging line up of speakers offering tips and advice on best business practices, and a Q&A with key department heads within OrderWise. It’s safe to say the inaugural event was a great success and we can’t wait to host it again in 2019 at the Lincolnshire Showground.
Our Business Connect Expo in June also marked the grand unveiling of our ongoing work into Warehouse Robotics. A real landmark in the company’s growth, this recent technological enhancement was showcased to existing clients for the first time over the summer and has been expertly developed and tested in-house throughout 2018, making OrderWise the first ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Software and Robotics provider.
Being built to run seamlessly alongside the main OrderWise Business Management Software, our integrated robotics technology aims to help businesses reduce their costs, fully optimise warehouse space, maximise pick rates and ultimately drive forward business growth. Although this year saw us invest £2 Million into researching and testing this technology, as well as transforming part of our premises into a Robotics Testing & Demonstration Centre, this is still only the beginning with lots more exciting plans already lined up for 2019 – watch this space!
All of this led to another huge year of awards success for OrderWise, with accolades including being shortlisted for Multi-Channel Solution of the Year at the National Retail Systems Award in London, as well as Business of the Year at the Lincolnshire Technology & Innovation Awards. I was also incredibly humbled to receive Business Person of the Year at these latter awards too.
However, it wasn’t just about our own success in 2018 – as the 2017 recipients of Family Business of the Year, we also had the pleasure of being a part of the Midland Family Business Awards as headline sponsors and judges. It was an honour to be a part of this process in 2018, hearing all the success stories from across the region, with Ward Recycling the deserving recipients of the OrderWise Family Business of the Year crown – well done once again to them and all the shortlisted businesses for 2018.
As we confidently approach the New Year well on course for another year of record turnover, we look forward to 12 months of prosperity for ourselves, our clients and those businesses operating across Lincolnshire in 2019.
