Rand Farm has been awarded the 2019 Best in Education Award by the National Farm Attractions Network (NFAN).

NFAN is a member body, which supports Farm Attraction owners and operators throughout the year and culminates with an annual conference in January, where independent judges choose which attractions have excelled in their fields.

This year, Rand Farm was a finalist in the Jim Keetch Best Farm Attraction over 75,000 visitors and the Best in Education.

The judges’ commented on the farm’s application: “The team at Rand are clearly passionate about the promotion of British agriculture & are keen to provide all of their 100,000 visitors with unrivalled access to all aspects of it.

“Offering bespoke educational packages which are well-rounded & fully comprehensive, it is clear to see why their residential experiences are booked up into 2020.”

A spokesperson for Rand Farm said: “The tireless work of the entire team is spearheaded by Director Kay Waring who has personally pioneered our residential program, growing from humble beginnings in 2005 when the Usher Junior School in Lincoln came to stay on the farm in borrowed Duke of Edinburgh tents!

“Since then, we have erected a purpose build dormitory to sleep thirty-two children and five adults. Our programs are very popular and we are fully booked for all of 2019 and most of 2020.

“It’s not just about our overnight visitors though. Every year, we welcome around 6,000 school day visitors for educational day trips and Christmas visits.

“Our exciting news for 2019 is that we will be opening Rand Farm Park Day Nursery. This will see the opening of a children’s day nursery for children aged six weeks to four years.”
