Lincoln Social Responsibility Charter welcomes over 30 role model employers

City of Lincoln Council has welcomed 33 role model employers to the Lincoln Social Responsibility Charter including some of the city’s biggest employers – Lincolnshire Co-operative, University of Lincoln and Siemens.

The charter, which was launched in October 2018, is free to join and available to any employer in Lincoln that can demonstrate a number of good practices in their workplace that benefit their employees and the wider community.

Through undertaking socially responsible activities, employers can expect to reap rewards for their organisation such as reduced recruitment costs and better brand recognition.

In turn, employees can expect to receive a range of benefits from their employer which can make a real difference.

To gain accreditation as a socially responsible employer, the charter requires small organisations (1-10) to proactively undertake a minimum of three socially responsible activities, medium organisations (11-49)  to undertake a minimum of five and large organisations (50+) to undertake a minimum of ten.

Organisations are required to include a combination of activities that benefit the employee and the local community.

By signing up to the charter, the organisation will receive a personalised version of the charter endorsed by the Mayor of Lincoln, a Lincoln Social Responsibility Charter logo for use on documents and marketing material, promotion from City of Lincoln Council and invitations to City of Lincoln Council led consultations and Mayoral Charity events.
