This story is over

Plans for 44 new affordable dwellings to be built in South Hykeham have been approved by North Kesteven District Council.

Proposals, submitted by Westleigh Partnerships Limited, will see 44 dwellings built on Thorpe Lane, 100% of the scheme will be affordable housing.

The site currently consists of 1.15ha of vacant land, which was previously used as a residential area and paddock and is located in South Hykeham.

As part of the plans, 48 Thorpe Lane, which is located on the site, will be demolished to make way for the new development.

A full planning application was previously granted in September 2016 for 31 dwellings on, associated highway and pedestrian footpaths, following demolition of existing dwelling.

However 44 dwellings of mixed size, including open space and landscaping will be created.

At the time of writing it is unknown when work is likely to begin on site.
