Local renewables firm expands as green energy market grows

A growing renewable energy company is taking on extra staff and has invested in additional vehicles thanks to a thriving order book and a raft of new industry accreditations.

UK Eco Energy Solutions Ltd has recruited more staff to cope with a swell of orders for its solar panels, electricity-saving heating systems, EV Car Charging points and LED lighting services.

It comes despite the government Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme ending in March this year, which means the financial incentive given to those who install renewable energy solar pv technologies has ended.

UK Eco Energy Solutions MD David Nash said: “The business became a limited company in July 2017 after three years of continued growth and has steadily grown from a one-man set up to an employer of nine office staff and electrical engineers,” he said.

“We were recently awarded NAPIT certification and our Government endorsed Trust Mark accreditation, which means we can now sign off our own electricity work. This makes the whole installation process more straightforward for our customers.

“We have also been awarded our Home Improvement Protection deposit and guarantee insurance certification and since getting these accreditations, we have seen a further influx of calls.

“A few years ago, the media reported claims of a downturn in the appetite for green renewable energy systems and some of the bigger players in the industry moved away from solar panel installation. Some even closed down completely.

“As a result, companies like mine have seen a growth in the workload and while the FiT scheme has ended, the financial savings households can make from eco systems means there is still a huge market for us.”

David said solar panels systems are more affordable now with a good return on investment coming from the savings made on energy bills. A 4-Kilowatt system installed can, on an average home, shave between £550 and £800 a year off energy bills.

“Our business has primarily been with domestic customers, but the commercial market is growing too,” he added.

“We’ve recently installed systems on a Lincolnshire farm grain store and have won jobs to install solar pv systems on nursing homes and even a local and operational train station in Newark.

“The need for electricity is still very high and with costs continuing to rise it is a worthwhile investment to install a solar panel system for either your home or business, the cost of electricity will only ever go up.

“We work predominately in Lincolnshire but are also responding to enquiries across the whole of the East Midlands region.”

UK Eco Energy Solutions Ltd is based in Langton House at the Lindum Business Park in North Hykeham and has taken on larger offices since moving into the business park three years ago.

Business Park manager Lynn Ritson said: “It’s always pleasing to see our tenants thrive and we wish David and his team the best of luck as they continue to grow.”
