Ahead of the much anticipated Luminarium: Quodlumin, which is due to officially open to the public tomorrow (April 10), CityX took a video tour of the construction to give you an idea what to expect.
The Luminarium, which was due to be installed at The Rotunda, next to the Brayford Pool on the University of Lincoln’s campus, has been forced to change location due to reduced public access to the site.
Luminarium: Qodlumin, which will be in Lincoln during the Easter holiday from Wednesday, April 10 to Sunday, April 14, is located at the Isaac Newton Building grass area on the University of Lincoln campus.
A monument to the beauty of light and colour, Luminarium: Qodlumin is a feast for the senses.
Visitors can expect to be transported to another world of cavernous domes, tunnels and pods, covering half the size of a football pitch and creating a sense of wonder and enchantment.
Created by Architects of Air, visitors are invited to wander, to lie down, to sit down and enjoy the ambience and the space.
Last year saw huge crowds, with over 4,000 people queuing up to experience the Luminarium in just four days.
In response to its huge popularity Lincoln Performing Arts Centre has extended the event by an extra day to give even more people the opportunity to attend.
Tickets can be booked in advance or on the door. Queues on the door are to be expected at busy times.
