Businesses are being sought to attend this year’s Future First Careers Expo, taking place in November.
Taking place on Wednesday, November 6 from 9.30am – 3pm at the Lady Eastwood Centre at Newark Showground, the annual event is an opportunity for businesses to meet with and discuss future opportunities with year 11-13 students.
Future First is an expo that showcases everything the area has to offer in terms of careers, training and education.
Organised by Newark and Sherwood District Council, the Lincoln College Group and BritishSugar, the event will enable local businesses to meet and engage with their future workforce.
Veronica Dennant, Senior Project Officer – Economic Growth for Newark and Sherwood District Council said: “The benefit to businesses attending gives them the opportunity to expand their talent pool for the future by engaging now with year 11-13 students.
“These young people may not be aware of the businesses within Newark, Sherwood and Lincoln and if they do what opportunities do they have from graduate to apprenticeship opportunities.
“The businesses do not need to have vacancies at this time, it is about information gathering.
“The event supports the businesses’ CSR, shares career opportunities and is a networking opportunity with other exhibitors.”
