Plans for 20 new homes in Langworth

Outline plans for 20 new homes to be built in Langworth have been submitted to West Lindsey District Council.

Plans, submitted by Stephen Spouge, would see the residential development built on land to the east and west of Barlings Lane, Langworth.

Formally used by a horse welfare charity, the 2.2 hectare site comprises two parcels of land either side of Barlings Lane.

If approved, this area would be transformed into a residential development, including 20 homes and public footpaths.

Although it is unknown how many bedrooms each home will have, the application indicates the site will include:

  • 15 Market homes
  • 4 Social homes
  • 1 Intermediate home

A spokesperson for the application stated: “The application proposal seeks outline planning permission for 20 dwellings divided into 6 and 14 respectively on two sites to the east and west of Barlings Lane.

“The applicant is keen to invest in a high-quality development befitting of the location believing this will enhance the overall appearance and appeal of the village.

“The proposed development would secure the delivery of five affordable units in order to meet identified housing needs and this comprises a significant social benefit that weighs heavily in favour of the grant of planning permission.”

Members of the planning committee at West Lindsey District Council will discuss proposals at a later date.
