Cloud provider, PeaSoup Hosting, has expanded its business to deliver its high performing cloud service from a new, environmentally friendly data centre in Lincoln, after receiving a £108,000 financial injection from HSBC UK.
The funding has enabled PeaSoup Hosting to build on its UK cloud service with another data centre in Lincoln, that provides a completely resilient position to complement the existing London based services and with a minimal ecological impact when running the technology.
A critical element of this expansion has been the partnership with coolDC®.
coolDC® are delivering a more environmentally sustainable data centre solution that has put Lincoln on the global IT map by demonstrating how reductions in both energy and carbon footprints can be achieved with a parallel reduction in physical footprint, but without a reduction in power density.
Moving away from traditional air-cooling in favour of liquid-based technologies, Lincoln data centre integrates a combination of the most innovative energy efficient cooling solutions in a design that enables a collectively more efficient output.
In deploying a liquid cooling (immersed) solution, the PeaSoup Cloud infrastructure can be cooled more efficiently, and coolDC have also increases the possibility of recovering and repurposing heat that would otherwise be wasted.
Martin Bradburn, CEO of PeaSoup Hosting, said: “The funding from HSBC UK has had a significant impact on our business, allowing us to open another UK site with state-of-the-art technologies and excellent environmental credentials.
“We are an ambitious company, constantly striving to drive innovation in our field and, with the addition of immersed computing, adding full site resilience will bolster our reputation as we strive for year-on-year our growth.”
Craig Canning, Area Director of Business Banking in the South East, said: “We’re delighted our funding has enabled PeaSoup Hosting to utilise innovative and super ecological data centres that will undoubtedly help it to achieve its future growth plans by offering new and improved services and solutions to its clients.”
