An award-winning pub and restaurant in Digby has been put up for sale.

The Red Lion, which is located on North Street, Digby, is currently owned by Pete Crompton and his business partner Ange Robinson

The property consists of a 400-year-old stone-built, corner local in the center of the small village.

Now, the pub is up for sale for £399,950, with furniture and fixtures included – however will remain open throughout the selling process.

According to Sidney Phillips, the business is currently turning over in the region of £335,000 per annum trading Tuesday-Sunday.

The property includes:

  • Main Bar
  • Restaurant
  • Games Room & Snug
  • Detached Garden/Function Room
  • Rear Trade Garden
  • Commercial Kitchen
  • Two Room Ground Floor Cellar
  • Four Double Bedroom (Private Owners Accommodation)
  • Kids Play Area
  • Car Park
  • Double Garage

Pete Crompton, Co-owner of the Red Lion told CityX: “Nine years ago, myself and my business partner Ange bought the Red Lion, basically a very run down pub in a very sorry state but it had a lot of potential.

“We renovated not only the pub downstairs but upstairs is a four bedroom property with an en suite and jacuzzi bath.

“We have built the business up from nothing, to an award winning pub but now we both feel now it is time for change.

“The pub has a restaurant that is both popular at lunchtime and evenings, on a Sunday we are usually fully booked serving over 80 Sunday lunches.

“We hope the new owners will carry on serving great food, locally sourced ingredients and top quality traditional casked ales and lagers.”

A spokesperson for Sidney Philips said on its website: “Located in the quaint Lincolnshire village of Digby is this two-storey stone fronted detached Public House and Restaurant that oozes character, benefiting from original feature beams throughout, with accommodation improved to a high standard by the current occupier.

“This profit making business holds the major accolade of being the Lincolnshire Life magazine pub of the year for 2017 & The Taste Of Lincolnshire pub of the year 2018 and 2019, and is therefore highly regarded as one of the best public houses in the county.”
