As January hits and the post-Christmas belly makes its appearance, joining the gym is appealing for the most of us, as we search for that ‘summer body’.
With this in mind, CityX has teamed up with Primal Life Gym to follow the journey of Sarah, highlighting what small changes to your lifestyle and diet can do!
For the next 10 months, Sarah will be working with the gym, to transform into a healthier, more toned version of herself.
As part of this, you will be able to follow her journey – working full time, life as a working step-mum, and most importantly getting fit and healthy as part of a day-to-day routine.
Ahead of the transformation, Sarah met with owner Ryan Croft in November 2019 to begin working on her core strength, and building up a routine ahead of the new year.
Take a look at her starting images:
At the start of the journey, Sarah Barker said: “This is going to be a massive challenge for me but I am excited for others, including those who do have a busy schedule, to follow my journey and hopefully take some inspiration from it.
“I am in no way the fittest person, and after growing up as someone classed as ‘big’, this is going to be one of the toughest things I’ve ever had to face – not only building on my fitness, but also sharing that with others.
“Every person, whether that be a business person, or someone who runs the family home, all have busy lives, and many of us find it difficult to find time to put ourselves first, myself included.
“What I am hoping is that this experience and journey will prove that it is possible to build a busy lifestyle around getting fit and healthy.”
One month in…
Ahead of the Christmas break, and after four weeks of training 2-3 times a week, Sarah has already begun to notice a difference, both in her mentality and figure.
She said: “Honestly, I cannot believe the change in myself so far! In my last session before Christmas I managed to deadlift 57.5kg weight – almost my body weight – and something I definitely would never have been able to do at the beginning!
“I am really looking forward to pushing myself in 2020 and can’t wait to see the end result!”
