SOS – Save Our Shops campaign begins

This story is over

As more and more businesses begin to feel the impact of COVID-19 we all have a responsibility to support our business community as much as we can.

Focusing initially on retail, hospitality and leisure sectors, CityX has pledged to provide 2 months of ongoing support for businesses that feel that they would benefit from free advertising or editorial coverage.  Particularly useful if you have made changes to your business to adapt to the current unprecedented situation and want to spread the word.

CityX founding publisher Dean Graham took to LinkedIn to launch the campaign earlier in the week as PM Boris Johnson set out the government’s response to the virus was to recommend not visiting bars, pubs, restaurants or making unnecessary journeys.

He said “I would be the first to say that media – local, regional and national have been a detriment to the ability of the UK to deal with COVID-19, however publishers and editors can choose to be different.

“For the next 2 months CityX will provide free advertising, free editorial coverage and free PR support to any Lincoln business in the retail, hospitality or leisure industry. Those most immediately effected by the current situation.

“The Save Our Shops campaign is our way of using our platform and audience to help the community that has always supported us.”

Dean then invited other businesses to help support in whatever way they can which lead to the creation of a web page that signposts what support is available.

If you’re a business that can offer a way of helping those businesses that might not survive the next few months or even weeks then please get in touch.

If you’re a business in the retail, hospitality or leisure industry in and around Lincoln and you think you’d benefit from some assistance, contact the businesses directly from this list.
