Coffee Cats launches sponsorship programme

    This story is over

Coffee Cats Lincoln are launching a sponsorship programme which aims to raise money for the upkeep of the resident cats during Covid-19.

Situated on 39 Silver Street Lincoln, the café is home to seven rescue cats living in an environment designed for them to freely interact with customers.

Whilst the business faces uncertainty during Covid-19, the owners have continued to give the best care and stimulation to the cats who remain living at the cafe, and have set up a sponsorship programme to help provide for them whilst the cafe is generating no income.

All the cats came from a rescue shelter where they had been for some time and sponsors can read a short bio about each cat and their unique character via the sponsorship page.

Anyone can sponsor a cat for £5, and all the money will go directly towards essentials such as food, litter, toys, vet bills and the general running of their home.

Donations made throughout April/May will be entered in a prize draw where winners will be announced at the beginning of June.

First place – Ultimate Coffee Cat Experience (enjoying a private session for you and four friends with the cats and a drink)

Second place – Odeon tickets for two

Third place – A pair of Coffee cats mugs

An owner of the cafe, Ann, said: “We’ve been humbled by the generosity and kindness of our social media followers and members of the public who have thought about us at what is a difficult time for everyone.

“This crisis hit when we had only been open for six months. We hadn’t had much time to establish ourselves and create a following on social media or with regular customers.

“During lockdown, we came up with the idea of sponsorship to cover the extra costs associated with caring for our cats 24/7 and want to thank everyone who has responded.

“We sincerely hope you will be able to come and meet all the coffee cats and their human helpers in the near future so we can thank you in purr…son!”
