Benjamin Edwards Recruitment have launched a revolutionary new website which allows companies recruiting to search active candidates online.
A new website aimed towards connecting companies recruiting and active candidates looking for their next role has been launched by a Lincolnshire recruitment company – Benjamin Edwards Recruitment.
Created by Brink Media, the website was designed in response to the post COVID – 19 landscape with a sharp rise of people looking for employment.
Owner – Claire Wakelin explains the reasoning behind the innovation: “The traditional style of recruitment websites are normally very focused around the candidates searching for jobs, whilst you can still search for vacancies on our website, with the current market for job hunters being restricted we wanted to offer something different to promote our great candidates”
“Over the last few months, the market has obviously been tougher than usual. We have actually placed multiple candidates around Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas.
“We have been very busy registering new candidates and supporting existing candidates to find their next role, these have mainly been in the Finance & Accountancy field, but we have also placed Directors, HR Specialists, Customer Services and Marketing candidates.”
“We have registered some excellent candidates recently at levels ranging from Office Support, HR, Accountancy staff through to Senior Directors.
“We want to sing about our candidates and help them have a platform to showcase their skills and experience.”
After interviewing, each candidate has a confidential blog written for them (this is completely anonymous and does not list their name or companies they have worked for). – This highlights their skills and experience.
This promotional blog is then posted on the website and Companies recruiting can pull up the candidate’s details using a specialist search function and then make contact if they want further information on the candidate. Candidates are also proactively promoted on social media forums like LinkedIn and Facebook.
The recruitment market so far for 2020
The company found that there was an initial knee jerk reaction which happened just after the lockdown to panic and freeze all recruitment.
Claire says “I think a lot of companies understandably panicked and cancelled their recruitment.
“However, from May onwards we have seen a steady upturn in companies recruiting and candidates looking for their next job move.
“We have been surprised by just how busy we have been and we have successfully placed many candidates.
“This has been an interesting time, consulting candidates and clients, manoeuvring around inductions and training for new jobs in Covid-secure atmospheres.”
“Understandably, interviews have been held online via video link, Benjamin Edwards have supported many job seekers on preparing for a video link interview as these are quite different from the norm.”
“Businesses that are making redundancies now seem to be those which were in financial difficulty before Covid and have sadly just not managed to weather the storm.
“As the furlough period comes to an end we will anticipate that more and more candidates will be made redundant.”
“We have seen a sharp rise from people wanting to relocate to Lincolnshire to get away from the larger cities. This could be great for the local economy.
“Lots of people have been applying for jobs from outside of Lincolnshire, especially London.”
“We cannot predict what the future holds for the recruitment arena around Lincolnshire but we can use our best endeavours to promote our great candidates whilst assisting them in their job search and supporting clients who are recruiting.
