Despite an unpredictable business environment this year, local businesswoman Holly Bryant has experienced huge company growth through a surge of sales of her luxury dog products.
Based in Osgodby near Market Rasen, Holly founded Designed For Dogs in 2017, a business which creates a unique range of handmade luxury dog blankets, dog beds, dog bandanas and toys, dog treats and chews and face coverings.
Along with a rise in applications at dog rescue centres, data from digital marketing agency Propellernet has reported an increase of ‘buy a puppy’ searches of up to 120% this year.
Since the beginning of lockdown the entrepreneur has seen a month on month surge in sales, and it doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.
Holly said: “We started to put plans in place at the start of Covid-19 to try to safeguard the business, stay positive and look at innovative ways to bring in revenue due to the cancellation of events we exhibit at.”
Designed For Dogs was Lincolnshire Shows ‘Grow with the show’ winner in 2019, and often frequents at country shows and dog events across the country selling their luxury dog products.
Holly added: “We love attending shows both locally and nationally as it’s a great way to meet with customers, both human and dogs, as well as giving us the opportunity to showcase our products.
“We were worried that with so many events cancelled this year it would have a detrimental effect on the business.”
Holly continued: “Thankfully we have built up a loyal customer base over the past three years and having to have a new focus on online sales, its generated new business where I have often worked late into the night to ensure all our orders get out on time.”
The business growth has enabled Holly to take on three new local staff members this month to help with making the products and provide admin support.
Holly added: “I am really excited to welcome the new team to Designed for Dogs HQ and excited about our future.
“It takes a lot of hard work, determination and self-belief to get through turbulent and unpredictable times like these.
“Building a strong team around you who believe in your brand and the quality of your offering helps you get through anything.”
Work has already started on Designed For Dogs future plans which include building a bigger studio and storage facility, along with research and testing on new product ranges to ensure the dogs of the UK are kept comfortable and happy.
